“The element of an office of a shipping company” or “the story about one project located in Jurmala”
The workspace is a powerful tool for influencing as employees as customers of the company. First of all, a good architectural project should correspond to the company’s business, which order it is done. Elements of office space speak about the company in general. Once we made the project for one house located in Jurmala (Latvia).
Somewhere deep down, every Jurmala house is a ship or a yacht, which is on land by coincidence.
The house is located in a quiet area of Jurmala. It is full of the light. The house with giant windows, overlooking old pines. The layout of the house is made along the main axis of the stair hall. The ladder is stitching the spaces and is the main element in the house.

The first thought that comes on mind at a glance at this fachwerk (the house is very airy):
– Won`t it fly away?
In order to stabilize and visually weight the walls we decided to veneer them with walnut panels. Panels, made according to our sketch, are not only decorative, but also got a functional goal – they break the sound. High walnut door with inlays of artificial veneer and genuine leather highlight the beauty of the material. Nowadays fashionable grey palette of the house makes accessories, textiles and some coloured inserts more bright and visible on this background.
So why not use this idea to create an office space? Thus, the sea theme can be underlined by interior elements, for example, in the office of the shipping company. Why not?
